Sign-on Day Success!
Mon Jul 12 2010
Last Sunday, 11 July, the Queensland Tennis Centre held its much anticipated Sign-on Day, giving the Brisbane community a taste of what’s on offer in the upcoming tennis season.
The community was given the chance to experience for themselves what programs and facilities the centre runs, as well as meeting the centre’s coaches and having a free hit on court.
The day was a great success, attracting more than 180 people. Adults and children alike came along to trial group and private coaching classes and feel what it’s like to play at Queensland’s home of tennis.
Those who enrolled on the day received 5 free hours of court hire and free entry into a Sunday morning social tennis session, giving them more reason to join in the tennis action this season.
Derek Burden, Head Coach at the Queensland Tennis Centre, was pleased with how many people came along and got involved. “Plenty of people took the opportunity for free court use throughout the day, so there was plenty of action going on over the course of the afternoon,” Burden said.
The response from attendees was also extremely positive. “I can’t wait to get back into tennis! It will be great to make a day of it on a Saturday morning with my family,” one mother said, who had given up playing tennis since having kids.
With over 150 new enrolments on the day, the new tennis season at the Queensland Tennis Centre is set to be hotter than ever!
